- Field experience hours are a part of the coursework in DePaul University's education programs; therefore, hours previously earned will not be substituted for the required hours.
- Professional behavior and dress are expected at all times.
- Each field experience is a potential student teaching placement or employer. Be professional at all times.
- Field experiences are encouraged to be completed in at least three (3) different schools across the Chicagoland area. No more than half of the total hours can be in one school.
- Students must have documented a minimum of fifteen (15) hours within each grade level/program category in which they will be licensed.

- Students must complete 10-15 hours of field experiences with exceptional children (in self-contained, resource or inclusion settings) as required by each program.
- Students must have a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of multicultural experiences in classrooms where at least 20% of the class is of a culture, language or racial/ethnic group that is different from their own.

PlacementThe Field Experiences & Student Teaching Advising Team will organize and make arrangements for field experience placements. Students are expected to choose and fulfill their placements from the opportunities provided by the FEST Advising Team. Students are not to be “cold-calling” schools or teachers to arrange their own placements.
