To be eligible to enroll in either of the master's degree programs, students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, have two years of full-time teaching experience, hold a valid standard teaching license, and have passed the Illinois Test of Basic Skills or Test of Academic Proficiency.
To be eligible to enroll in the Teacher Leader Endorsement program, students must have earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education, have three years of full-time teaching experience, hold a valid standard Illinois teaching license, and have passed the Illinois Test of Basic Skills or Test of Academic Proficiency.

Applicants who have earned a degree outside of the U.S. or who will be considered international students must submit additional materials. Visit our International Students page for more information.
Applicants can upload supplemental application materials, send requests for letters of recommendation, and pay the application fee through our online application system.
The Educational Leadership - Teacher Leader master's degree program, the Curriculum Studies - Teacher Leader master's degree program, and the Teacher Leader Endorsement program admit new students every quarter: fall, winter, spring, and summer. They offer rolling admission, but regular deadlines are set to assure students full consideration for admission and financial aid. These programs will continue to accept and process applications after the regular deadline if space is available.
Students generally receive an admission decision 3-4 weeks after submitting a complete application.
