Suggested Activities Timeline

The student teacher remains a student and is expected to rely upon the cooperating teacher and the university supervisor for appropriate guidance and instruction. The following timeline is offered as an aid in helping the student teacher and the cooperating teacher plan the responsibilities for the quarter.

Elementary and Secondary Student Teachers

Introductory Phase
(1st Week)
Begin to plan for teaching the first class. Begin work on school based assignments. 
Initial Teaching Phase
(1st Week)
Assume responsibility for teaching one or more classes.
MID TERM EVALUATION
(5th Week)
Cooperating teacher and university supervisor complete a midterm evaluation form and share it in a three-way conference with the student teacher.
FINAL EVALUATION
(Last Week)
Student teacher, cooperating teacher, and university supervisor each complete required forms and share in final three-way conference with the student teacher.

Early Childhood, Physical Education, and Special Education

Introductory Phase 
(1st week)
Begin teaching the first class. Begin work on school based assignments. 
MID TERM EVALUATION
(3rd week)
Cooperating teacher and university supervisor complete a midterm evaluation form and share it in a three-way conference with the student teacher.

FINAL EVALUATION
(5th week - ECE) (5th week - PE)   (8th week - Sp. Ed.)

Cooperating teacher, and college supervisor each complete required forms and share in final three-way conference with the student teacher.
