Inspired by the growing awareness of the under-representation of women in science, technology, engineering and math-related careers, three DePaul professors came together to create a two-week camp for middle-school girls which featured projects and experiments, each incorporating elements of math and science. The students were recruited from different areas of low-income Chicago Public Schools.
DePaul's College of Education first launched inSTEM in 2014 with the generous help from the Motorola Solutions Foundation Innovation Generation Grant.
