Located within the College of Education on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus, the Education and Counseling Center (ECC) provides affordable educational and counseling assistance to members of the surrounding communities. The ECC's services include professional individual and family counseling, literacy assessment and remediation, kids' programs and camps, and academic tutoring all on a low-cost sliding fee scale dependent upon client income and resources. No one is excluded due to inability to pay.
Working with graduate counseling interns under the direct supervision of doctoral-level licensed clinicians, our clients have an affordable opportunity to talk with supportive professionals about the difficulties they are facing, identify strengths, learn new ways to cope with problems, and practice those new coping tools more successfully.
We offer tutoring and academic services for all ages focusing on subject specific areas or on executive functioning skills and strategies for academic success. Literacy assessment and remediation are also available.
In addition to furnishing training and supervision to DePaul students by offering educational and counseling services for Lincoln Park and surrounding community members, the ECC provides professional development opportunities for professional counselors and allied health professionals. CEU/CPDU credit is offered for professional counselors and social workers as well as educators. Content topics vary throughout the year and are offered at an affordable cost. In addition to workshops, consultation and supervision groups for counseling professionals are offered on a regular basis.
