Hello! My name is Daisy Lopez. I am a graduate student pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from DePaul University and a Masters of Education in English Language Teaching and Learning/ Bilingual Education from Loyola University Chicago. I recently received a School Principal License. I currently work as an Induction Lead Coach in the Office of Teaching and Learning of Chicago Public Schools. Prior to this role, I was a bilingual classroom teacher for seven years. During my time in Chicago Public Schools, I have served as a member of the CPS Teacher Advisory Team and was a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. I have co-presented my work at La Cosecha Dual Language Conference and will present at the National Association for Bilingual Educators conference. I am currently working on my research proposal focused on dual language teachers, students, and leaders. This spring I will be working on a curriculum planning project in Manizales, Colombia through DePaul.
