Education is the difference. Learn to make it here.
We believe no one makes a greater difference in human lives than a skillful educator. For more than 60 years, this belief has inspired everything we do at DePaul’s College of Education (COE). DePaul’s history of educating teachers dates back to 1911, when the university formed a Department of Education within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. We founded the College of Education in 1962, reflecting our commitment to this fundamentally important function in society. Through authentic experiences in the classroom and out in the world, we develop difference-making educators — engaged, service-oriented citizens of our local and global communities.
We are committed more than ever, as faculty, staff, and administrators, to making ourselves accountable for and actively raising awareness of the racist beliefs, behaviors, and policies that sustain discrimination and prejudice in all forms, especially in our own curriculum and practices.
