Taxi

Don't Mess With
My Fro

2003 - Austin

In 2003, the Chicago-based artist collective Haha invited Duignan to collaborate with the group on their developing project, Taxi. The endeavor was inspired by digital advertisements that adorn the top of taxi cabs. Haha recruited artists from various Chicago neighborhoods to create their own advertisements that, with the aid of GPS communications, would display the artists' messages upon entrance to each neighborhood. Duignan and Mathews created a piece to represent the Austin neighborhood; their advertisement combined graphic design and text to display “DON'T MESS WITH MY FRO."
