School Counselor Endorsement

Today’s school counselors offer much more than just college and career preparation. They are advocates for urban youth and act as leaders, mentors and instructors whose mission is the success of every student. School counselors can be powerful agents of change who help schools close achievement gaps and prepare all students for success in life after high school. They can have an enormous impact on schools and on students who need help the most.

The School Counselor Endorsement program is designed for graduate students who already have a master's degree in a counseling-related field and who wish to earn School Counselor endorsement in the state of Illinois.

DePaul’s Counseling program was the first one in Illinois to affiliate with The Education Trusts National Center for Transformative School Counseling (NCTSC).
