Nomination For Beck Grant
The Beck Grant is a unique leadership
program in partnership with DePaul University, is seeking nominations for the 2016-2017 . Candidates selected will receive a partial scholarship to participate
in a rigorous 15-month program and a 200-hour Internship, earning a Master’s
degree and credentials for licensure (candidates who have already earned a
Master’s can complete the principal preparation licensure only program). After
graduating from DePaul University, candidates will assume a one-year paid
residency in Chicago Public Schools before beginning their new roles as
principals for a minimum of four years.
The nominee should be some who is an exceptional educator,
has significant experience in urban education and is committed to pursuing
school leadership in Chicago. Strong candidates will have a blend of the
following competencies: Success in an urban education environment as
demonstrated by academic gains of students taught; proven Leadership and
relationship building capabilities, as demonstrated by instructional leadership
roles and community leadership positions.
