In a world that depends on science and technology, mathematics is the foundation for progress, problem-solving and sound decision-making. With a master’s in Middle School Mathematics Education (MSME), you’ll learn how to capitalize on students’ thirst for knowledge by offering encouraging analysis and a higher level of thinking. This program is offered jointly with the College of Science and Health.
If you are already a licensed teacher, you also have the option to add a Middle School Mathematics endorsement to your Illinois Teaching License (PEL).

Bringing Chicago into the classroom
The MSME program draws students from all over Chicago and its suburbs, creating a diverse set of experiences. It’s structured as a cohort program, with groups of teachers taking the same courses together in the same order.
