Part-Time Jobs for Education Majors
It is essential for you to gain practical experience with children or teens in order to build your teaching skills as well as your resume. Fortunately, there are many kinds of part-time jobs available to education majors. One option (for graduate students) is to become a substitute teacher.
In addition, Education Career Services posts several part time vacancies each week from employers who are looking for education majors. Recent employers include the YMCA, schools, park districts, and community agencies which offer programs for children and youth. Some recent jobs include: tutor, teacher's aide, teacher for preschool gym class, GED instructor, director of afterschool program, and coach.
Part time jobs in the city and suburbs are available online for DePaul students and alumni. Please write Lynn Bryan for the password.
You will probably need a resume and cover letter for these positions. Check our web pages for assistance.
Teacher's Assistant Positions
There are many types of teacher's assistant positions in schools. You should apply directly to the school principal for these positions.
