Job Fairs
There are generally several job fairs held in and around Chicago during the winter and spring months. For more information about job fairs for educators, contact the Career Center's

At on-campus recruiting, officials from a school, district or state will come to DePaul to meet with students. Usually, the event consists of an information session about the district and a question and answer session on such topics as certification and job searching. There are usually not full interviews at on-campus recruiting events.
What to expect at job fairs for teachers...
Schools/districts are invited to set up a table with information about their school and one or more representatives from the school/district are present. When job seekers arrive at the job fair, they are given a list of the schools present and their vacancies. Job seekers then approach schools' tables, hand over their resume and are interviewed briefly.
There may be a small fee for job seekers to enter the job fair, but you do not usually have to register in advance. Plan to take a supply of resumes to the event.
Wear professional attire (a suit), but comfortable shoes (you'll probably be standing in lines most of the day). Taking a snack and water will help you feel stronger physically during the day, which can improve your interviewing performance.
