Ms. Julian's professional experience includes working as an administrator at the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) from 1994-2002 where she administered professional development program funds to support regional delivery of educational priorities in the areas of reading, mathematics, gifted education, professional development for administrators and teachers, as well as in fundamental learning areas. She also developed a collaborative network of collaborative partnerships with foundations, educational organizations, and businesses, administered the Illinois Administrator's Academy, and participated in the development of the Statewide Regional Delivery System for Professional Development. Prior to her service with ISBE, she served as the principal of Haven Middle School in Evanston, the Assistant Principal at Haugan Elementary School in Chicago, and worked as an elementary school teacher. Ms. Julian recently completed her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Loyola University.
