​Dr. Tavano has taught all grades in the public schools.  He has served as principal and superintendent. Currently, he teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in the College of Education.  As a teacher educator his area of expertise is teaching reading/literacy. In addition, Dr. Tavano has supervised student teachers and administrative interns.  He has facilitated the partnership between Bernhard Moos Elementary School at the College of Education.  Master teachers at Moos School mentor our teacher candidates.   Faculty from DePaul provide professional development.
