In keeping with the mission of the University and School of Education, the Academic Success Center exists to serve the needs of individual students as they pursue a degree and prepare to work in schools. Students are served along a broad continuum ranging from one tutoring session to a combination of services (tutoring, study skill workshops, test preparation, individual assessment and academic counseling, support and study groups). All students are treated with respect for their need to seek assistance and to maintain confidentiality regarding their academic and personal concerns. The Center subscribes to the belief that each individual is unique and requires a personal approach for academic achievement. Each effort in providing academic support is characterized by the respect for, and appreciation, of individual differences. Programs offered by the Academic Success Center are available to all DePaul students. However, special emphasis will be toward providing services to students on probation and students having difficult times passing the Illinois teacher certification exams.
