Counseling - School Counseling

Today's school counselors offer much more than just college and career preparation. They are advocates for schools’ urban youth. They are leaders, mentors, and instructors whose mission is the success of every student. School counselors can be powerful agents of change who help schools close achievement gaps and prepare all students for success in life after high school. School counselors can have an enormous impact on schools and on students who need help the most.

The School Counseling program is designed for graduate students who want to be strong leaders and passionate advocates for students, schools, and the profession at large. It is recognized as a national leader in innovative, transformative school counseling. The program is the first in Illinois to affiliate with The Education Trust’s National Center for Transformative School Counseling (NCTSC).
