The curriculum studies program is designed for professional educators who wish to enhance their own professional practice in teaching, curriculum development or the administration of a department or educational program. This program includes the coursework needed to complete the general administrative endorsement of the Type 75 certificate.
Here, you’ll gain the skills necessary to develop, justify, evaluate, and modify curricula so that the needs of your students, especially those in urban environments, will be better served. While these skills are important for schools, they’re also valued by other organizations ― such as hospitals, businesses, associations, community and civic agencies, and museums ― that need to educate employees, students, patrons, or the public in a time of fast-moving social and technological change.
It requires 52 quarter hours or 13 courses to complete the Curriculum Studies degree online. Additionally, this program includes the courses and experiences required for general administrative endorsement of the type 75 certification.
To be eligible for the online curriculum studies program, students must have a bachelors degree conferred by an accredited college or university. Additionally students must have two years of full-time teaching or school service personnel experience, and hold a valid standard teaching certificate or school service personnel certificate.
