The Technology Specialist Endorsement program launched in summer 2006 when the School of Education and the College of Computing and Digital Media(CDM) - formerly the School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems created synergy by developing a program to enable teachers to obtain a Master's degree in Curriculum Studies and an Illinois endorsement as a Technology Specialist. Teachers who already have a Master's degree can opt to take only the courses needed for endorsement only. Teachers will work collaboratively with colleagues while learning about instructional technology processes and issues for the 21st century. This endorsement is applicable to individuals who teach computer science and who serve as the district technology expert for hardware, networking and programming
